Alex: Hello everyone and welcome back to ClearTalk English!
Alex: I am Alex, and today we have a very exciting topic for you.
Emma: Hi everyone! I am Emma, and I am so happy to be here today.
Emma: Today, we are talking about hobbies and what we do for fun.
Alex: That is right! Talking about hobbies is the best way to make new friends.
Alex: When you meet someone new, you almost always ask about free time.
Emma: Yes, it is such an easy and friendly conversation starter.
Emma: So today, we will teach you simple, useful words to share your hobbies.
Alex: We will also show you two easy grammar patterns to sound natural.
Alex: You will learn how to use 'I like to' and 'I enjoy' correctly.
Emma: By the end of this episode, you will feel very confident speaking about your weekend!
Alex: So, grab your notebook, sit back, and let us get started!
Emma: Alex, let me ask you first. What do you do for fun?
Alex: Well, in my free time, I really love being active outdoors.
Alex: I like to run in the park near my apartment every morning.
Emma: Oh, running every morning sounds like hard work, but very healthy!
Alex: It is! It gives me lots of energy for the whole day.
Alex: I also like to play soccer with my friends on Saturday afternoons.
Emma: Playing team sports is such a fun way to stay healthy.
Alex: Notice how I said: 'I like to run' and 'I like to play'.
Emma: Yes! That is our first big pattern: 'I like to' plus a basic action verb.
Emma: For example, you can say: 'I like to read', or 'I like to swim'.
Alex: Exactly. It is very simple because the verb after 'to' does not change.
Alex: Now Emma, what about you? What do you like to do?
Emma: I prefer quiet, indoor activities most of the time.
Emma: In my free time, I enjoy baking delicious sweet treats.
Alex: Baking? That sounds wonderful! What do you bake?
Emma: I enjoy baking chocolate chip cookies and banana bread.
Alex: Yum! That makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Emma: I will bring some cookies to our studio next week!
