Alex: Hello and welcome to ClearTalk English! I am your host, Alex.
Emma: And I am Emma! We are so happy to have you with us today.
Alex: Today, we are talking about a very relatable topic: our morning routines.
Emma: Yes! Everyone has a morning routine, but we all start our day quite differently.
Alex: That is true. In fact, Emma and I have completely opposite morning habits.
Emma: We really do! Alex is a classic early bird, and I am definitely a night owl.
Alex: An early bird is someone who loves waking up early in the morning.
Emma: And a night owl is someone who stays awake late and hates early mornings.
Alex: If you are learning English, talking about your morning is wonderful practice.
Emma: It helps you practice everyday action verbs that you use every single day.
Alex: We will share simple sentences, useful verbs, and practical tips for your English practice.
Emma: So grab a cup of tea or coffee, relax, and listen closely.
Alex: Let us begin right at the start of the day: waking up!
Emma: Oh boy, waking up is always the hardest part for me.
Alex: Emma, what time does your alarm clock go off every morning?
Emma: My alarm rings at seven o'clock, but I never get out of bed then.
Alex: What do you do instead when the alarm makes noise?
Emma: I immediately hit snooze on my phone and sleep for ten more minutes.
Alex: To hit snooze means to turn off the alarm sound temporarily so it rings again later.
Emma: Exactly. I usually hit snooze three or four times before I open my eyes.
Alex: Four times? That means you wake up at almost eight o'clock!
Emma: Yes, around seven forty-five. What about you, Alex? When do you wake up?
Alex: My alarm rings at five thirty in the morning, seven days a week.
Emma: Five thirty? That is so early! Do you ever hit snooze?
Alex: No, I never hit snooze. As soon as the alarm rings, I stand up right away.
Emma: That sounds like a superpower to me. How do you feel so energized?
Alex: I always drink a large glass of water right beside my bed.
Emma: Drinking water first thing in the morning is actually a very healthy habit.
Alex: It truly wakes up your body and helps your brain feel sharp.
Emma: Notice the difference between two simple verbs: wake up and get up.
