Alex: Hello, everyone, and welcome back to ClearTalk English!
Emma: We are so happy you are here with us today.
Alex: Today, we are talking about a very special and personal topic.
Emma: That is right! We are learning how to describe your home.
Alex: In fact, I just moved into a brand new apartment last weekend.
Emma: Congratulations, Alex! Moving to a new place is so exciting.
Alex: Thank you, Emma! It was a lot of hard work, but I love it.
Emma: I really want to hear all about it. Where is your new apartment located?
Alex: It is on the third floor of a quiet building near the city park.
Emma: That sounds wonderful! Is it big or small?
Alex: It is medium-sized, with one bedroom and a lovely open space.
Emma: Can you give us a virtual tour today?
Alex: I would love to give you a tour room by room.
Emma: Awesome! This will help our listeners practice useful home words.
Alex: Yes, we will learn names for rooms, furniture, and daily objects.
Emma: Let us start at the front entrance! What happens when you open the front door?
Alex: When you open the front door, you step directly into the living room.
Emma: The living room is usually the central space of any home.
Alex: Exactly. It is where I relax after a long day at work.
Emma: What furniture do you have in your living room right now?
Alex: I have a large gray sofa, which many people also call a couch.
Emma: Couch and sofa mean the exact same thing, right?
Alex: Yes, they are synonyms! You can use either word comfortably.
Emma: Is your new couch comfortable?
Alex: It is extremely soft and very cozy. I can take easy naps on it.
Emma: What is in front of your couch?
Alex: I placed a small wooden coffee table right in front of it.
Emma: Do you keep anything on the coffee table?
Alex: Just a small green plant and a couple of interesting books.
Emma: Under the table, do you have a rug or carpet?
